Trip through the Portuguese gastronomy with Gordon Ramsay
We all know that Portugal has great gastronomy and wines, right?
Now, you can rediscover it through the new episodes of “Gordon Ramsay Uncharted”.
Now, you can rediscover it through the new episodes of “Gordon Ramsay Uncharted”.
This time, chef Ramsay came to Portugal to discover the most unique flavors and the people who work every day to bring this deliciousness to our tables.
We suggest you take a look and, even if you’ve been to Portugal before and tasted our amazing food, you will learn so many interesting things about Portuguese culinary.
For example, did you know that Portuguese scientists are starting to use sustainable and innovative ways of growing the clams we use in our gastronomy, such as a clam farm in the Algarvian high seas?
You can also learn that the Iberian pigs are fed with, not only acorns but also onions, carrots, and potatoes, that the Colares vines were one of the few escaping the plague of the phylloxera bug in the 19th century and they grow very low on the sand, that the Portuguese paprika is milder, sweeter and smokier than in the rest of the world and then if you feel inspired, you can cook a traditional dish of pork with clams to die for!
During this episode, you will also learn how barnacles are harvested, how sardines are fished, and, to finish your meal, nothing better than a gooey sponge cake.
Have we opened your appetite yet?
In the next weeks, we will bring you more jewels of the Portuguese cuisine so, stay connected! And if you know our cuisine or have a particular interest in a specific dish or wine, just let us know!
Meanwhile, you can read more about Ramsay’s adventure in Portugal here.
